Danish Cord Stool

This piece has a rich history.  David Johnson of Sidecar Furniture has been making it for a while, he based it off of Hans Wegner CH23 chair.

Some favorite features included the curved front and back pieces, the figure-8 weave between the side double rails, the textured tops of the legs, the splay and rake of the legs, the laced Danish paper cord weave. Made of ash.

3-Legged Stool

These stools are all unique, because the legs are hand shaped with a drawknife and spokeshave when the wood is green, which allows them to feel handmade. The "T" shaped stretchers adds a lot of strength to the overall design.  These stools are perfect as extra seating, plant stands, art pedestals, and end tables.

Live Edge Stools & Plant Stands

These stools capture a whole lot of texture.  The legs are chunky hardwoods that I spit when green, drawknifed and spokeshaved.  I keep all the rough facets, tool marks and even the tear out is allowed to stay.  The legs are then fully air dried.  The "top cap" is considered a waste product when slabbing up a log because the thickness is not consistent.  I love the natural texture and undulating surface; and it is nice to have finally designed a piece of furniture that utilizes this wood instead of it going to the burn pile. Through tenons.  I often finish the legs black so that the top can be the star of the show.  Each one of these is unique. Disclaimer: Some of these have deep cracks in the top are considered plant stands rather than stools.
